Full Review
The Case Logic camera holster is a versatile way to carry a camera that balances protection and practicality. This lightweight and streamlined cube offers robust protection for your camera gear while maintaining a slim form factor. Though initially designed for SLRs, its generous dimensions can fit a wide range of modern cameras, from DSLRs to mirrorless systems. This camera sling bag‘s thoughtful organization includes easily accessible side pockets and a well-padded main compartment. The flexible carrying methods make it ideal for a variety of different types of shooting scenarios. For those looking for a more minimal everyday carry setup, the holster can accommodate smaller camera systems like a Ricoh GR III and everyday essentials.

Case Logic does an excellent job of designing durable and reliable solutions for a variety of sensitive gear. Their products emphasize practical functionality combined with protective features that do not disappoint.
External Components
The Case Logic camera holster is made from durable nylon and polyester, with a distinctive textured surface that provides decent protection and a tactile grip. A densely padded base offers solid protection for your gear, although we wouldn’t recommend testing its impact resistance. The sleek all-black design with subtle red accents provides a professional balance that works well in both casual and formal settings. As for branding, there is a somewhat prominent Case Logic logo, which tends to stand out thanks to the yellow. While this may add a distinctive touch of branding and aesthetics, it may also signal to others that there may be expensive equipment inside, which could be a security concern, depending on your location.

One of this bag’s standout features is its numerous carry methods. You can carry it by the top grab handle, an included shoulder strap, or attach it to your belt. Similar to the rest of the bag, a padded top handle features a piece of densely padded foam wrapped in durable nylon. While this is not the most comfortable handle, it feels sturdy and secure, so we have no concerns about it failing under regular use. This helps with durability and longevity.

The next carry method includes the shoulder strap, made from a robust nylon material that, while not the softest, feels pretty durable. It attaches to the holster using rotating plastic carabiners on both sides, providing excellent flexibility for adjusting to you while on the go. These carabiners connect smoothly to D-rings stitched onto the holster. A small groove built into the D-rings helps secure the carabiner in place. This shoulder-strap carry method offers additional versatility beyond the hand-carry and belt-loop methods and is relatively easy to switch to and from.

The last carry method for this holster features a built-in belt loop made from the same durable material as the rest of the holster’s main body. It has a pretty wide design that helps provide excellent stability, preventing the holster from sagging. This helps distribute the weight evenly across your belt, making it more comfortable to wear for extended periods, even with heavier camera setups. It is important to note that this design can only distribute the weight so much.
Fit Notes

The Case Logic camera holster has a fairly distinctive shape that, while unique, results in a somewhat bulky profile, especially when worn on a belt loop. While the all-black colorway with red accents can give it a sleek and professional aesthetic, the prominent Case Logic branding and somewhat obviously specialized camera bag shape make it apparent that you are carrying photography equipment. While not a significant detriment, it is worth considering if discretion is a priority during your travels.
Inside The Pouch
The Case Logic camera holster has sleek, identical zippered pockets on both sides, each with a smooth J-shaped opening that spans nearly the entire height and width of the holster. While these pockets do not offer enormous capacity, they are a nice size for storing essential accessories like extra batteries, cables, lens caps, SD card cases, or even a wallet. The J-shaped design makes these pockets even more convenient. While you can not zip it completely closed with larger items like an iPhone Pro Max inside, they can work as pseudo-quick-access slip pockets when partially zipped. However, it is important to remember that these items are not fully secured when stored like this.

The main compartment has dense padding throughout to protect your sensitive equipment. A single zippered opening provides a nice, wide view with easy access, particularly helpful when grabbing a camera by its grip. The holster is designed to accommodate an SLR camera with a standard zoom lens. However, we can easily fit a Canon EOS R with a 24-105mm zoom lens in our testing. An intuitively placed internal zippered pocket on the lid of the compartment provides extra storage for small accessories like SD cards, lens caps, or lens cloths.

When it comes to weight distribution, the holster generally maintains its form well on a belt with standard gear. However, heavier equipment will naturally be more noticeable when worn. The minimal weight is less noticeable when hand-carrying the camera, and the holster can conveniently store lens caps and other accessories. This setup successfully allows the holster to serve as a stable, temporary drawer when needed.

The Case Logic camera holster impressively balances protection, comfort, and practicality. While its somewhat conspicuous branding and bulky profile may stand out, it excels at protecting gear while providing accessibility. The versatile carry options, robust construction, and thoughtful organization make it a solid choice for photographers who prioritize protection without sacrificing convenience.
