We tested it for over two weeks, and it shows that “space saver” doesn’t always mean small—it’s more about saving the space within your luggage by keeping all your toiletries in one well-structured package.

We’re testing the medium-sized variant, though BAGSMART also offers a large version. Both share a similar design and depth, with the large simply offering more room in each compartment. The medium feels like a sweet spot for most travelers—roomy enough for full-size products but compact enough to pack. At first glance, the Space Saver Pro Bonchemin looks soft and pillowy, with a quilted exterior that gives it a cozy, cushioned aesthetic. It’s a waterproof polyester fabric that repels light splashes and beads water effectively. The peach-like texture seems contradictory to that, but it does work to an extent. That said, it’s not meant for use inside the shower—more splash resistant than waterproof. During testing, it handled bathroom humidity well without soaking through or feeling damp.

The material does have some quirks. It tends to attract lint, dust, and pet hair, which show up easily against the soft texture. It also takes on a lumpy appearance depending on what’s packed inside, so the bag’s silhouette can look uneven. While the shiny accents do their best to distract you from the lumpiness, the pouch is still functional—form follows purpose here.

The bag also stands upright on its own, a convenient touch when setting it down on a counter. It’s structured enough not to collapse under its own weight, even when half-empty.

Inside The Toiletry Bag

Unzipping the front compartment reveals one of two major zones for organizing your toiletries. It opens clamshell-style, laying flat for easy access. Inside, there are two distinct areas: a panel with five elastic loops and a clear plastic pocket opposite it.

BAGSMART markets this as the “cosmetics” compartment, but the organization is flexible. The loops securely hold slim items—like brushes, pencils, or razors—but inserting and removing them can be tricky. The plastic backing creates friction that makes sliding brushes through a bit of a tug-of-war, especially when the loops are tight. The positive tradeoff is that once items are in, they stay firmly in place.

The clear TPU material inside is easy to wipe clean and prevents leaks from spreading, though it’s not fully sealed on every side. During testing, we found this compartment less suited to everyday-use makeup and better for occasional or backup items—things like extra cotton rounds, tweezers, or travel tools that don’t need daily access. Since accessing this section requires folding the bag open, pulling items in and out repeatedly can get tedious if used for core routines.

The main compartment is where the Space Saver Pro Bonchemin starts earning its Pro designation. It opens fully flat in another clamshell design and unfolds into four distinct panels. At the top is the 360-degree metal swivel hook, which feels sturdy and well-balanced. The swivel allows the bag to hang neatly against any surface—whether from a towel rack, a hook, or a shower rod—making it easy to access everything without rearranging. Even when fully loaded, the hook holds the weight securely without sagging. Once hung, the layout resembles a tiered shelf of mesh and clear pockets, each with a specific role.

At the very top, two separate zippered pockets are ideal for smaller hygiene tools or dental care items. We fit a Philips electric toothbrush comfortably here, though electric toothbrushes with longer handles might be a tight squeeze. These top pockets feature TPU-coated fabric that’s water-resistant on the outside, though not fully lined internally, so leaks could theoretically seep between layers.

Below those, the bag transitions into a larger split main compartment—a flexible zone for skincare bottles, deodorant, or hair products. These halves—both covered by zippered see-through plastic—include stretchy loops for holding bottles upright, though in practice, many standard toiletry bottles don’t fit perfectly within them. The upper half has a hatch-like cover, while the lower half has dual-sided access, allowing it to be opened from the top or bottom. The loops inside are better for travel-size tubes than bulkier containers, so much so that we found it easier to ignore them entirely and use the full compartment as one large “bucket.”

That’s where the bag shines, ironically, if you’re willing to ignore a built-in feature. The space accommodates HumanGear GoToob+ bottles, standard-size moisturizers, and even small hairbrushes without issue. Items stay upright when hung, minimizing the risk of leaks pooling in corners.

At the bottom sits a smaller zippered section—a catchall for small tools, cotton pads, or travel razors. It’s ideal for organizing items by how frequently you use them. We tended to place daily essentials (like makeup brushes or skincare bottles) in the middle zones, while less-used tools lived in the bottom section.

Fully loaded, the bag feels substantial yet balanced. Despite its “Space Saver” name, this is not a minimalist kit. Quite the opposite; it’s more of a portable vanity. It’s impressively functional and adaptable for those who like to travel with their full routine but less so for those stuck with tight travel backpacks.
