Sometimes, you have to sacrifice organization or the ability to get it off the counter to get a toiletry bag with more space. However, the Quince Voyage Nylon Hanging Toiletry Case combines capacity with organization and throws in a hook to hang it for good measure. And since Quince is known for offering more premium-looking products at budget-friendly prices, it won’t cost an arm and a leg. Is it the Dopp kit for you? Let’s find out.

External Components
We typically don’t talk much about price in our reviews, since it varies over time and you might be checking this out a year or so after we first wrote about it. However, when considering the materials and construction of this bag, it’s helpful to know that Quince has this one pegged at half the price of comparable toiletry bags at Bellroy, Briggs and Riley, and TUMI. While we’re not sure about the comparability between Quince and those last two brands, the Quince one is definitely giving us Away vibes, and a similar kit from that brand would also cost more.

Maybe it’s because the material on the Quince Voyage is water-repellent 400D nylon twill, a material we often find on Away gear. Ours is Navy, but you can also get the toiletry bag in Black. The material is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which means it contains no hazardous substances. The bag is also BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certified, which aims to improve working conditions throughout the supply chain. If you’re concerned about sustainability and workers’ conditions, you can feel a little better about this bag.

However, there’s a qualifier there for vegans: it has a Nappa leather handle and zipper pulls. The pulls are easy to grab when you need to open a section, and the handle is comfortable to hold, whether you need to pull it out of a bag or carry it to the bathroom. Inside, the zipper pulls are shorter and made of metal, and they’re harder to use when you have lotion on your hands.

The zippers aren’t a brand we recognize, but we haven’t had any issues with them, so we hope they last for the long haul. There’s no logo or any identifying features on the outside, either, but that’s unsurprising for something from Quince, so let’s hop inside.
Inside The Toiletry Bag
There are two side pockets where you can stash gear you want to quickly access without digging into the main compartment. We put the pills and earplugs on one side so we could grab them en route if necessary, but larger bottles fit here, too. That means you can stash more sunscreen or lotion here if you’re taking a road trip or checking your bag. They don’t have any other organization inside, but they’re not cavernous enough to lose something, so that’s OK.

The other zipper winds in a U-shape around the top and front of the bag. That’s how you get into the main compartment, and opening it all the way puts everything on display for easy access when you hang it up.

That’s right, this is a hanging toiletry case, and you’ll find a metal hook in the top pocket that you can pop over a towel bar or door hook. It’s not quite large enough for a shower bar, and it doesn’t swivel, so it hangs sideways on a towel bar. Propping it against the wall straightens it some, but not entirely.

Underneath the hook, on the portion of the bag that unzipped from the front, you’ll find two zippered mesh pocket. The top one is very small and really only has enough space for toothpaste and floss, tissues, or a bar of soap. Below that is a pocket that’s twice as deep, so it’s a decent spot for a makeup compact, a bar of soap, or something else pretty flat. The mesh doesn’t have any water resistance, but the lining inside the toiletry bag is waterproof nylon twill. It’s easy to wipe clean if something does spill, though it’ll get all over everything else in the bag first.

On the front of the bag is another zippered mesh pocket that’s slightly wider than the other two but just as shallow. What you put here depends on your needs. We used it for a thinner makeup bottle, but travel toothbrushes and some razors would fit here if you wanted.

However, there’s another spot to stand those if you want. On the left side of the bag’s interior are two elastic loops to hold skinny gear like that upright. The space is just tall enough for a full-size toothbrush, though it might bump against the zipper track at the top.

There are two elastic-topped slip pockets against the back wall of the bag to hold bottles or bars. They’re rather deep, so things like Cadence Capsules are too short unless you stack them, but other travel containers do well.
The remaining space is open to hold bulkier gear like hair brushes, shavers, and anything else you didn’t lock down elsewhere. There’s no other organization, so we ended up using it for most of our gear since it didn’t all fit in the mesh pockets. Whether or not the toiletry bag is divided right for you will depend on the items you like to bring, since the mesh and side pockets are better suited to flatter items than bulkier gear. Still, with so much space remaining in the middle, you might not mind leaving a pocket or two empty. You won’t have to make hard choices about what grooming gear to bring and what to leave behind in a bag this big, but you will have to figure out how to make space for it in your travel backpack or carry on luggage.
Usage Timeline
Condition: Excellent
- It has interesting organization
- We wish the hook had some sort of swivel or way to turn
- The side pockets aren’t as useful as the interior ones
